We the People, is a video and sound piece about protested conflicts during the unprecedented clash of the Covid-19 pandemic and the Black Lives Matter Movement.
Highlighting the charged issues of personal liberties, human rights and racial injustice, the video is composed of stills methodically focused on the signs of the protestors. The different types of protestors are fighting for the right to breathe, to exist, for their freedom and it becomes apparent that the systematic problems of society can be found in the language that they use. The signs are in direct dialogue with each other and show the great social divide in the United States, the inequality and the unfairness within the systems we live in. The intense audioscape is composed of layers of sounds from a ventilator and that of a human heartbeat.
